April is:
National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Foster2Forever has a great blog post about educating and being an advocate for children
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Activities and information for the 2011 year
National Autism Awareness Month
Activities and information
There are reasons months highlight different issues. They promote awareness and hopefully enlightens the general public to misconceptions and truths. I hope that all of my readers and the random ones that come by have some time to identify what their passions are (even if it's not highlighted in this month) and work to get information and education out to more people. As we start April (and I'm not a fan of April Fool's jokes) I wanted to point out three of the themes that this month brings awareness to.
